DEA's notice process for elevated 7-OH is pending, while three synthetic or semi-synthetic derivatives—mitragynine pseudoindoxyl, MGM-15, and MGM-16—were temporarily placed in Schedule I effective August 26, 2026. FDA says kratom is not lawfully marketed as a drug, dietary supplement, or conventional food additive.
